Is the professional development certificate program right for me?
The ideal participant is a mid-career peace and development professional with at least five years of relevant full-time experience. Candidates should come prepared with a social change project aimed at promoting peace and development within the program’s focus region. They must have a clear understanding of how the fellowship and its network will help them enhance their peacebuilding efforts and increase their impact. This postgraduate certificate program is designed for working professionals and requires 10 weeks of in-person attendance. After completing the program, fellows are expected to share their work and experiences and maintain active connections with peace fellows in the region as well as with Rotary members.

Candidates must:

Be proficient in English.

Hold a bachelor’s degree.

Have at least five years of relevant full-time experience in peace or development-related fields.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace through their professional, academic, and community involvement.

Show leadership capabilities.

Clearly explain how their peace promotion plans align with Rotary’s mission.
Regional Focus for Candidates

Bahçeşehir University: Candidates should be from the Middle East or North Africa, have experience in the region, work with related communities globally, or have a keen interest in peacebuilding approaches relevant to this region.
Additional Requirements

There must be at least a three-year gap between the completion of the candidate’s most recent academic degree (undergraduate or graduate) and the fellowship start date. Candidates currently enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, an undergraduate or graduate program in the upcoming academic year are not eligible.

Rotary Peace Fellows who have completed a master’s degree or Global Grant Scholarship must wait three years after finishing those programs before applying.
